Arts & Culture

The arts & culture sector includes activities, performances, facilities, and services pertaining to the fine arts: drama, music, dance, visual art, and literature. It also encompasses activities related to cultural heritage, i.e. archival collections and services that record the collective memory of a people or region.

SPOTLIGHT ON SUCCESS: Theatre Collingwood

Theatre CollingwoodTheatre Collingwood, a not-for-profit professional theatre company, was founded by a group of individuals who shared a common passion and understanding  of the arts and believed in its positive impact on the community. In 1984 it was officially incorporated, and during the boom of the ’80s it became renowned for its large scale musicals. In 1997 Steven Thomas became Artistic Director, bringing both expertise and extraordinary vision to the company, and began producing both Canadian and international drama with the finest local talent.
